Sweden's fast fashion brand H&M continues to serve as a pioneer in the sustainable development of the clothing industry. The brand parent company H&MHennes&MauritzAB (HMb.ST) Haines Maurice group (hereinafter referred to as H&M group) Beijing time said on Wednesday that it will disclose the detailed supply chain information of all the clothing products sold on the HM.com website since April 23rd, and is committed to changing the fashion industry so as to make the industry more sustainable and pparent.

In addition to all clothing products, the supply chain information of most household products is also disclosed on the HM.com website, including key information such as origin, supplier name, supplier company address and number of employees.

Take the women's cotton crepe half dress with a price of 329 on the front page of HM.com website as an example. Users can click on the "product sustainability" option under the product's homepage. The side page of the product's sustainability will appear on the right side of the product, and the Swedish group's sustainable development values and goals will be displayed on the side of the page. Consumers can click on the "supplier and factory" option of this page to enter the detailed supply chain information sub page. The sub page shows that the product is made by two factories in Hangzhou, namely, HangzhouHongxingGarmentsCo., Ltd and HangzhouSanyangFashionCo., Ltd, and two factory employees are 101-500 people, while the supplier of the product is BestbaseInternationalTradingCo., Ltd..

IsakRoth, director of sustainable development at the Swedish brand name H&M, said that with such a large scale, the group is proud to be the first global fashion retailer to launch information pparency with such products.

The H&M group hopes to prove this possibility to the world through this action.

The Swedish group hopes to set benchmarks for the industry and encourage customers to make more sustainable choices by making public and announcing the origin of products.

The Swedish company said that in 2013, the group became the first large clothing company to publish the global supplier list on the Internet. In 2017, it launched a small scale trial water to release more pparent product information, and this comprehensive promotion to 47 markets.

The home page of HM.com is also introducing the plan of the brand in detail, and explains why maintaining pparency is crucial to H&M. The brand believes that maintaining pparency, clarity and candor in production mode and production address is an important means to help brands achieve more sustainable development.

"The more brands you share, the more you learn, the more attention you need to focus on."

At the same time, consumers also need to know as much information about the products they buy, so that consumers can make informed decisions and have confidence in the products that consumers have, because they take responsibility and sustainable development concepts in production.

In addition to websites that can understand pparent product supply chain information, if consumers want to know the same information in a physical store, they can download H&MApp and scan the price tag of interested products by scanning function (two-dimensional code scanning mark). If the item is sold online, consumers can open their product page and find detailed information about product sustainability.

As the second largest apparel group in the world, the H&M group has an exemplary role in sustainable development. However, as the supply chain exists in the complex environment of the third world, even though H&M group is the first group to disclose all the supply chain factories and publish sustainable reports, it still can not solve the problems of plant exploitation and safety.

Bangladesh, the world's second largest exporter of clothing, has just started workers' strike to raise wages in the early part of the year. The H&M group and other European and American Apparel giants are trying to prevent local factories from rectify their safety problems. They also face the situation of being taken over by local government agencies.
