The German Greenpeace Organization recently revealed that after testing the samples taken from a number of children's clothing discount retailers, more than half of children's shoes and children's shoes contain chemicals that are hazardous to health and environmental safety.

These discount stores include Hardi (Aldi), Tchibo and Lidl from Germany, Austria and Switzerland respectively.

The laboratory tested 26 substances in children's shoes and clothes.

Children's shoes, including sports beach shoes, wooden bottom shoes and sneakers, are proved to contain the most toxic chemicals, such as high concentration of two methylformamide (DMF), which not only has reproductive toxicity, but also is harmful to the skin.

Greenpeace says most of the wood bottom shoes and plastic beach shoes are smelly and smelly, which usually means that these shoes contain naphthalene.

Children's clothing products sampled from Austria and Switzerland were found to contain high levels of potentially harmful chemicals.

In Vienna, children's shoes were detected seriously exceeding DMF.

A pair of children's boots and a pair of flashing children's shoes soles in Munich and Hamburg, respectively, were found to have an extremely high DMF.

And rain boots containing carcinogens.

Greenpeace believes that the low cost operation of supermarket chains causes textiles and shoes to contain harmful substances.

However, the organization reminds that the non-toxic fashion is not only in the luxury industry, but Martha stores in the United Kingdom and Coop in Switzerland are examples of healthy and fashionable business models.

In response to Greenpeace's report, three discount retailers responded that their products were healthy and harmless to consumers.

Lidl said that in any case, we accepted the test results and regarded it as a close cooperation with suppliers to further reduce harmful chemicals.
