Xinji Leather Tries Hard To Build Eco Leather Industry

A few days ago, Xinji Meixing leather company and Taiwan Investment Co., Ltd. invested $150 million in the construction of Bao de fu shoes company in Xinji tannery District officially put into operation. The annual production of 11 million 400 thousand pairs of leather shoes and 10 thousand jobs have ended the history of Xinji's no shoemaking enterprises. Xinji is also an important achievement in adhering to structural emission reduction and creating "eco leather industry".

Sewage treatment is the lifeblood that restricts the sustainable development of leather industry.

Over the years, Xinji has invested 190 million yuan, built 100 thousand tons of urban sewage treatment plants and 35 thousand tons of tannery area 3 sewage treatment plants and 1 peak shaving sewage treatment plants. Second yuan peak shaving sewage treatment plant invested 20 million yuan is also being put into operation, forming a three level governance system for the initial management of enterprises, professional management of parks and comprehensive treatment of urban sewage treatment plants.

In order to build eco leather industry with high standards, they accelerate the construction of emission reduction projects, vigorously eliminate backward production capacity, adjust product structure, boost energy saving and emission reduction, and promote industrial upgrading.

This year, the city has set up a new target of energy saving and emission reduction. By 2010, the city's COD emissions will be reduced by 290 tons.

The city has implemented the development strategy of ecological leather industry, which is "tannery control, chain extension and development of new varieties". Three industrial zones have been planned and constructed, including leather making, garment making and Xinji economic development zone.

At the same time, on the basis of the successful development of leather industry and garment industry, the city has promulgated a series of policies to encourage enterprises to readjust their product structure and management strategy, increase the development of footwear industry and leather ornaments, extend the industrial chain to end products, and build a modern industrial layout.

We should guide enterprises to shift the development focus to deep processing, fine processing and high value-added products, so as to realize the local production, in situ pformation and local appreciation of Xinji leather products.
