< p > recently, the strategy research center of EAE Business School of Spain has made a report entitled "2013 textile and clothing consumption expenditure".

The report predicts that by 2017, the consumption expenditure of Spanish urban residents will increase by 24% to 25 million 669 thousand euros.

According to statistics from the Ministry of economy and competitiveness of Spain, imports of Spanish garments in 2012 amounted to more than 10 billion 800 million euros, and if the fabric was included, the total amount would be 14 billion euros.

Among them, clothing textiles from China, Turkey, Bangladesh and Morocco account for more than half of the imports of such products.

However, the number of garments imported from Spain is declining, because the importers in the country are pferring their land to other neighboring countries like Italy.

< p > > a href= "//www.sjfzxm.com/news/index_p.asp" > Spanish < /a > media reported recently that the consumption trend of Spanish residents is changing.

At present, the expenditure per capita for women's wear, men's wear and children's wear in Spain is 47%, 35% and 18% respectively.

It is estimated that by 2017, about 53% of the consumption expenditure will be spent on women's wear, men's clothing will only account for 34%, children's clothing will account for 14%, and the average annual clothing consumption will be around 543 dollars.

< p > it is understood that last year, Spain's "a href=" //www.sjfzxm.com/news/index_c.asp > clothing > /a > trade deficit amounted to 3 billion 380 million euros, and the supply chain of Spain's large apparel chain groups such as Inditex, mango (Mango), Cortefiel and El Corte Ingl were mainly from China, Turkey, Morocco and so on.

However, in recent years, more and more companies have chosen to manufacture textile and clothing accessories in Turkey, Morocco, Portugal and Italy. The number of garments imported from Spain in China last year decreased by 9%, unchanged from 2009.

< p > analyzing the current situation of Spanish textile industry, the report shows that in 2012, the number of textile enterprises in Spain was 8668, which was 5.19% lower than that in 2011 and 46.4% lower than that in 2002.

About 66% of the a href= "//www.sjfzxm.com/news/index_c.asp" > textile and garment enterprises < /a > will be concentrated in four major autonomous regions of Catalonia, Spain (Catalonia), Madrid (Madrid), Andalusia (Andalusia) and Galicia (Galicia).

< p > over the past year, the amount of clothing imported from Spain in Italy is 836 million 500 thousand euros, accounting for 8% of the total clothing imports.

This is closely related to the "Chinatown" in the outskirts of Florence, where there are more than 3000 textile factories, although they are actually made in Italy in "Chinatown", but now they have become the supply centers of many European fashion chain brands.

Luis Lara, a professor at ISEM fashion business management school in Spain, said that the manufacturing costs of remote locations are growing rapidly, and new products need to be placed 2-3 months ahead of schedule. This not only increases the business risks of enterprises, but also increases the risk of inventory.

Therefore, the near future production will be the trend of the Spanish apparel industry in the future.

In addition, the production cycle must be short and fast to meet the rapidly changing market demand of fashion apparel.

< p > despite the increase in labor costs in China, Spanish clothing producers have to "get a better job" and move to other countries with lower labour costs such as Southeast Asia. But some people also say that about 50% of Spain's clothing production pferred to other countries in the past 20 years will return to Spain.

Asensio, President of FEDECON, said that because of the low labour costs in those countries, especially in Asian countries, Spain began outsourcing clothing production in 1990s. (Angel Asensio)

Spain's production shifted to other countries, causing Spain to lose jobs, and Spain's job opportunities dropped from about 400000 20 years ago to about 166000 today.
