British local time March 6th hearing, the British Retail Association released BRC-KPMG retail sales monitoring report in February 2012.

According to the report, the same store in February

Retail sales

Value fell 0.3 percentage points year-on-year, while same store sales fell 0.4 percentage points year-on-year.

Its total retail sales increased by 2.3% over the same period last year, up from 1.1% in the same period last year.

In the sales of clothing products, sales of footwear and household goods in February were both worse than those in January and December last year, especially in the purchase of large items.

Sales of food products were better than that of last month; sales growth of non food products, which did not sell through stores (via Internet, mail order or telemarketing), slowed down, and sales increased by 9.9% over the same period last year, but they were lower than those of 11.3% in January and 18.5% in December.

In response, Stephen Robertson, director general of the British Retail Association, said: "the reality of weak sales shows that there is no convincing sign of recovery in the recovery of the retail industry.

Although inflation has eased the pressure on family finances and reduced consumer confidence, rising oil prices and budgetary uncertainties can still lead to risks.

It is expected that the unemployment rate will further increase, the tension of people's work safety will increase, and consumer confidence will be weak. "
