The textile and clothing industry in India is making strenuous efforts to alleviate the labor crisis. This is achieved through bundling with different suspected industrial training institutions and establishing new training centers throughout the country, which helps the textile and garment sector retain skilled workers.

According to a survey conducted by the India Federation of industry and commerce, nearly 45% of the industry said that the capacity of their units only utilized 50-60% because of the lack of labor. In fact, 30% of their profits are shrinking because they can't achieve sales targets. Nearly 15% of the units are considering turning the focus to brand building, and 10% of the units say they will soon migrate their production units to the inland areas, where they can get workers at low wages.


In fact, the textile and clothing industry in India employs 35 million workers, and the number of ancillary industries is relative to that. In 2015, the number of employees in the textile and garment industry is expected to rise to 47 million.


Nair, Secretary General of the India Textile Industry Federation (CITI), said: "we are launching technology development projects.
