Japan'S Chemical Fiber, Yarn And Fabric Output Has Declined.

According to statistics from Japan's Ministry of Commerce and industry, in 2005, Japan produced 1 million 90 thousand and 700 tons of chemical fiber, down 2.48% from the same period last year.

The output of cotton fabric decreased slightly, and cotton fabric decreased the most. Last year, the output of cotton fabric was 425 million square meters, which was 11.2% lower than that of the same period last year. The output of wool fabric was 72 million 490 thousand square meters, which decreased by 4.3% compared with the same period last year. The output of silk fabric was 20 million 370 thousand square meters, down 9.9% compared to the same period last year. The output of chemical fiber fabric was 1 billion 147 million square meters, which was 5.23% lower than that of the same period last year.

Last year, yarn production in Japan declined particularly. Cotton yarn production was 91 thousand and 900 tons, down 11.6% compared to the same period last year. The output of wool yarn was 14 thousand and 500 tons, down 17.1% from the same period last year, and the yield of chemical fiber yarn was 65 thousand and 800 tons, down 15.4% compared to the same period last year.
