Yangzong of Chengjiang

The village of the town seems to be walking into an old film where the old people are wearing old ancient clothes, knickers and embroidered shoes, sitting in the corner of the sun in a leisurely way, or shuttling in the deep alleys, embroidered with gorgeous flowers and ornament with the quiet village of Yangzong.

This has been followed since the Ming Dynasty.

The ancient costume

Highlights the rich history and humanistic charm of this place.

At the third Yunnan ethnic costumes culture festival held recently in Yuxi, the traditional Han costume from Yangzong town of Yangzong Hai administration is catching up with its distinctive classical features. It is as interesting as the clones from Yunnan's late Qing Dynasty shot by Fang Suya.

In fact, such a dress is not just a display. In the new street village of Yangzong Town, you can always see the old man wearing the ancient full baggy clothes, knickers and embroidered shoes, sitting leisurely in the corner of the sun.

Their clothes are long and knees, big buttons, necklines and lace are all rolled with lace, with trouser legs trimmed with lace, embroidered cloth shoes with their heads upwardly upturned, and a tongue shaped cloth behind their heels.

I can't help thinking of the two weird figures in Yunnan's eighteen weird: skirts are worn out of trousers, and behind shoes. It's very much like the dress of women in the Qing Dynasty in the old photos. Even the Yang clan also called this dress an ancient costume.

This dress is quite ancient, but it is still popular in the village, which is just like an "alternative" fashion scenery.

In Yangzong, all the people dressed in this dress are Han nationality. It is impossible to see the same clothes out of Yangzong.

Yangzong's "costume" clothes have two kinds: "full set roll" and "flower shoulder".

They are all over the age of fifty or sixty years old. They are usually dressed in Yangzong. They are young people, but hardly anyone wears them now. Only some families still have them. Only wear them when they are playing lanterns for festivals.

The "flower shoulder" should be placed on the neckline of the dress with a width of five inches and a length of two feet. The shoulders should be embroidered with auspicious ornamentation such as camellia, peony and magpies, or embroidered with some legendary stories and labor scenes.

Around the supporting shoulders, they use various colored silk plait edges, and clothes and silk skirts are also trimmed.

Because the colors are gorgeous and rich, the "flower shoulder" is the necessary ancient wedding dress for girls to marry.

"Full set roll" is much simpler than the "flower shoulder". The black shoulder is not embroidered, only with various colored cloth and silk braid, the color is elegant, simple and beautiful.

The matching trousers are "lanterns and trousers", and the 4 inch high places around the trouser canisters are embroidered with silk thread. The designs are also set up on the top and bottom with "dragon yarn braid", and they float like lanterns.

Shoes are called "pointed shoes", like a wooden boat with upturned shoes, upwardly embroidered half flowers, and patterns of bees and butterflies.

The upper part of the heel is covered with a tongue shaped cloth called "shoe pulling".

When clothes are dressed, they must not go out and do their work.

The head should be combed into one of the oldest "Gao bun" in China, which is the most popular in the two dynasties of Ming and Qing Dynasties.

Head dressing is also the most time-consuming, at least 40 to 50 minutes, and there is no way for others to do it.

When the dress appeared in Yangzong, there was no clear record in the literature.

But what the local people agree with is that, like Guan Suo opera, the army is brought into Yunnan to enter Yangzong.

The indigenous peoples of Yangzong are Yi people.

The Ming Dynasty

During the period, many immigrants came into Yunnan with the army. When they taught the local people advanced farming techniques, they brought in the clothing culture of other places.

At that time, Yang joined the costume of the Yi people and became the present long coat.

Yangzong has been in a closed state due to its terrain. Ancient costumes were preserved.

After the 80s of last century, Yangzong communicated with the outside world. Modern clothing came in, and traditional costumes were impacted.

Nowadays, young people no longer wear traditional clothes, but people over the age of 60 still cling to this tradition.

It is precisely in the exchanges with the outside world, Yang Zong's "ancient costume" has begun to receive constant attention.

All along, the relevant departments of the central and provincial governments have come to Yangzong to collect their costumes for exhibition. Tourists from home and abroad come to Yangzong to buy and collect this ancient costume.

"Every decoration on the clothes must be carefully done, and it will take one or two months to complete a garment without doing anything.

Nowadays young people are not wearing them, and there will be fewer people. "

In the village, the old man's curiosity about outsiders or tourists has already been used to no wonder.

Now, the reality of Yang Zong's clothing is facing the crisis of losing the world, which has also attracted the attention of the local government.

Taking traditional costumes as the costumes of rural literary and artistic teams, with the advantage of Yang Zong's literary and artistic team and the flourishing of literature and art, it is one of the protective measures to carry on from generation to generation.

Thus, on the day of the festival, Yang Zong was dressed like a bride who had been married, and a set of colourful clothes with the bright colors of the performance of the theatrical troupe was resurgent.
