Instead, Japan and South Korea retained their traditional costumes from China.

The revolution of 1911 overthrew the Qing Dynasty's national oppression, achieved the equality and unity of the Chinese nation, but failed to restore China to the Chinese culture. It still represented the costumes of the Manchurian tunic and the cheongsam and so on, which is a great pity.

Today's so-called "Tang suit" is virtually nothing to do with the Tang Dynasty, but it is completely clear of the mandarin jacket. Only because the overseas Chinese are called "Tang people", and they basically go out after the late Qing Dynasty, often dressed in Manchu costumes, so the full dress is also known as "Tang suit" by foreigners. This is the origin of the so-called "Tang suit" today (obviously, this name is very inappropriate).

We are now committed to the great rejuvenation of the Chinese nation, the key of which lies in the revival of culture. Therefore, our country now pays more and more attention to the excavation and promotion of the traditional culture. However, it is obviously inappropriate to represent the ancient and splendid Chinese clothing culture with the Manchu costumes symbolizing Manchu national oppression and the blood and tears of the Chinese nation.

The fifty-five ethnic minorities all have their own national costumes, but the Han nationality takes their full costume as a symbol of their own shame as their own national costume. This is indeed a great satire.

In order to realize the Renaissance of the Chinese nation, we must clear up the source and restore the Han costume, which was destroyed by a butcher's knife three hundred and sixty years ago, and make it as a national costume of the Han nationality and shine brilliantly with fifty-five ethnic minority costumes.

It is gratifying to note that a group of hot blooded youngsters are starting to take action in practice today.

What needs special explanation is that the positioning and functions of national costume and modern common clothing are different. The national costume is mainly used for special occasions such as traditional festivals, celebrations, etc., to reflect the traditional culture of the nation, enhance national pride and national cohesion, and the national costumes of all the nations of the world.

We believe that the restoration of Hanfu is not aimed at modern ordinary clothes, but not for everyday wear, but for Manchu cheongsam, which is now regarded as a symbol of Chinese Manchu clothing. That is to say, all Han Chinese dressed in clean clothes are now dressed in Hanfu, such as traditional festivals and Tiantan rituals, Confucian Temple worship and so on.
