Pakistan Facing the worst flooding in 80 years, destroying Pakistan cotton Crop and local infrastructure seriously hit Pakistan. Spin And garment industry.

Owing to the lack of inland transportation and the damage of the highway and railway network, the supply of raw materials in Pakistan's textile and garment industry has been completely terminated, and the export of goods is facing a serious delay.

In view of the shortage of commodity supply and the soaring price of all raw materials, the price of per Meng de (1 maund=37.32 kg) of cotton in Pakistan has risen to 7300 Pakistan currency (about $2.28 per kilogram).

The floods triggered debris flows ravaging cotton growing areas in Pakistan. About 12 million bags (2 million tons) of raw cotton are on the brink of destruction. Industry sources speculate that the foreseeable shortage of raw cotton will lead to the collapse of important industries.

In addition, after the Qadirpur, the largest gas supplier in Pakistan, stopped production, the supply of natural gas in Pakistan's textile industry has also been suspended for two weeks. The power failure has been increasing frequently, and textile workers have also returned home to assist their home relief efforts.

The United Nations says this disaster is the most serious flooding in Palestinian state history. Its severity is far greater than the 2004 tsunami in South Asia and the Kashmir earthquake in 2005. It is estimated that about 13 million 800 thousand people are affected by floods. Debris flows destroy roads, bridges, thousands of acres of fertile fields, hundreds of schools, hospitals, and damage thousands of jobs.

Gohar Ejaz, chairman of All Pakistan Textile Mills Association (APTMA), Punjab, said that unprecedented floods hit Pakistan's textile industry seriously, leading to the closure of important industries, which could lead to massive unemployment.

President Ejaz urged the Pakistan government to seek special market opening concessions to Europe and the United States, just as the European Union offered preferential treatment to Sri Lanka after the great tsunami in South Asia.

The canal also advocated that the Pakistani government should provide special regulations on the import of cotton in the United States to ensure the normal operation of the textile industry in Pakistan.
