Clothing exports to Australia 887 million 333 thousand and 200 US dollars, an increase of 11.55% over the same period last year, down 18.12 percentage points compared to last month.

The Australian government has passed the law. Since January 1, 2005, Australian textile import tariffs have decreased by 5% to 7.5% respectively.

Among them, import tariffs on clothing and textile products in Australia dropped from 25% to 17.5%, and shoes, cotton sheets, carpets and knitted fabrics fell from 15% to 10%, while sleeping bags, cloth and shoes were reduced from 10% to 7.5%, and the current tax rate remained until 2009.

According to the Australian textile tariff reduction scheme, import tariffs on clothing and textile products dropped to 10% in 2010, and other textiles dropped to 5%.

In 2015, import tariffs on all garments and textile products fell to 5%.


Recently, Australian Kim Carr, Minister of innovation, industry and technology research, announced the proposal put forward by the Australian textile and footwear industry, clearly pointing out how the industry should take part in today's ever increasing global market competition.

The report recommends building innovative capabilities at the grassroots level, and supporting the reduction of tariffs on textile footwear industry by 2015, and recommends that tariffs be reduced to 5% between 2010 -2015.


Australian apparel retail group Noni B Limited recently announced its corporate performance in fiscal year 2006, after tax profit of $8 million 200 thousand, an increase of 24.1% over the 2005 fiscal year, which is Noni B's fifth consecutive year of surplus growth.

In five years, the company's after tax profits increased by 35.5% on average.
