"In July 6th, 1-5 months in 2010, Thailand's clothing exports increased by 2.82%, which was affected by the 2009 economic crisis and the closure of many small and medium enterprises (SME), resulting in a 10% reduction in Thailand's production and also an impact.

Order

To this end, it is suggested that the government should revise the rules to increase the number of people who are admitted to work.

Thailand garment industry association consultant Wan Luo revealed that in the first 5 months of 2010, the total value of garment exports in Thailand was only about $1 billion 300 million, a decrease of 2.82% over the same period last year.

Due to the economic crisis in 2009, the number of orders has been greatly reduced, and foreign producers have been unable to continue to bear rising production costs by moving production bases to other countries or reducing production.

In addition, small and medium-sized operators also shut down enterprises, so that the production of garments in Thailand as a production base will be reduced by no less than 10%, leading to the impact of production and orders in 2010.

On the other hand,

Garment industry

It also suffers from labour shortages. Before the garment industry laid off a large number of workers, it is more difficult to recall those workers back to the garment industry.

Fortunately, as a whole, the garment industry still received a large number of orders in 2010, so that factories could not produce enough, and almost every factory could not increase their acceptance orders. The production capacity was close to full load. The overall export growth of Thai garments reached 5% in 2010.

The vice president of the Thailand Industrial Institute revealed that the Thailand Industrial Institute proposed a review of the number of people with disabilities entering the work at the 3 joint meetings of private sector organizations. The private sector hopes that the Ministry of labour and social development will propose amendments to the above provisions to the cabinet meeting. The cabinet meeting has passed the above recommendations in principle on the 22 day of last month.

He said that the number of persons with disabilities accepted by the above rules was 200, and that of 1 disabled persons is now revised to 100 for 1 people with disabilities. The cabinet meeting also instructed the Ministry of labour to study the appropriate time limit for the implementation of the order, which may extend from 90 days to 180 days, with the aim of allowing the private sector to have enough time to make adjustments.
