According to the financial times, there have been strikes in Vietnam and Kampuchea recently.


In Kampuchea, workers are preparing for a three day strike this month on the issue of minimum wage. In Vietnam, thousands of workers in a Taiwanese shoe factory recently went on strike for a pay rise.


These factories are factories that compete with China and supply low cost goods. These employees demand better pay and benefits.


According to statistics, the minimum wage in Kampuchea can be ranked among the lowest in the world. The average clothing workers in this country can earn 50 dollars a month plus 6 dollars in living allowance.
