"Shepherd Boy" Children'S Shoes Formaldehyde Content Exceeded The City'S Shelves

This morning, the city commerce and Industry Bureau notified a "shepherd boy" child leather shoes under the city's shelves.

The Beijing Municipal Bureau of industry and Commerce has monitored the quality of 10 kinds of children's products, such as children's toys, children's shoes, children's cars, children's clothing, bottles, water bottles, plastic tableware, milk powder boxes, diapers and children's wipes, which are sold on the market in the market. We have monitored 154 sets of commodities and 35 items of inspection items.

In the monitored commodities, only 1 products with formaldehyde content exceeding the standard were found to be hazardous to consumers' health and safety, and the qualified rate of goods involving safety was 99.4%.

This substandard product is the "boy boy" adhesive child shoe (220mm (1.5)) and 225mm (type 1.5) produced by the nominal (Zhejiang) shepherd boy shoe industry Co., Ltd., and the item number is P1015.

Reporter enquiries found that the shepherd boy series of high-grade leather shoes have repeatedly won the "Zhejiang recommended products", "Zhejiang famous brand products".

The city's industry and Commerce Bureau said it has informed the product quality and safety supervision department where the disqualified commodity manufacturers are located.

Children's shoes industry insiders told reporters that formaldehyde in shoes mainly comes from brightly colored dyestuffs, auxiliaries and adhesives used in children's shoes. Therefore, the bright colors and children's shoes with printing will generally have a high formaldehyde content.

Experts believe that shoes are almost always "intimate contact" with the body. If people are exposed to low-dose formaldehyde for a long time, they can easily cause chronic respiratory diseases, eye diseases, skin allergies, asthma and so on.
