Shoes And Clothing Export

The European Union recently decided to extend the ban on two methyl fumarate for a year to March 15, 2011.

This will have a certain impact on the export enterprises of footwear, clothing and furniture products.

It is reported that fumarate two methyl ester is a chemical mildew inhibitor, has a strong bactericidal effect, is widely used in leather, footwear, textiles, bamboo and wood products and other sterilization and mildew treatment, but if the excessive use of fumaric acid two methyl ester, may cause users skin allergies, skin rashes or burns pain.

Since the release of the order by the European Union in 2009, China's footwear and toy products have been repeatedly recalled for containing this substance.

Footwear, clothing and furniture are Zhongshan's main exports to the European Union.

Zhongshan inspection and Quarantine Bureau reminded that in order to avoid the loss of the content of fumaric acid two methyl ester products, the relevant export enterprises should strengthen the monitoring of the content of two methyl fumarate in the mould inhibitor. When the supply contract was signed with the raw material supplier, the fumaric acid two methyl ester content should be included in the contract monitoring scope. If necessary, suppliers should be provided with the relevant proof of not containing fumaric acid two methyl ester. During the daily production process, desiccant and mould inhibitor should be sent to the sample for testing.
